Claire's Ten Favourite Travel Quotes

1. I discovered this quote not long before beginning my first big travel adventure, a 6 month university exchange to the USA. I remember writing this quote on my dorm room whiteboard, I just connected with it.

2. Find out who you are. How do you cope when you miss a flight or the hostel doesn't receive your booking and you don't have a bed for the night?

3. Who doesn't love a Dr Seuss Quote? This one appeared (in a shorter form) on my digital "Professional Practice Teaching Portfolio". Just as a little reminder that in life or in travel,  YOU have opportunities, potential and ultimately control .

4. Scared? It's normal!

5. After my time in the USA spending time back in Australia just didn't feel the same as it had previously. It took a good few months to settle back in and even that felt like a big challenge at the time. When I moved to the UK I had this quote printed out and displayed on my wall inside a collection of photos of my friends and family from different towns and countries.

6. Time to acknowledge all those key words I have been listing on my resume lately.
"resilience, adaptability, problem solving skills, organisational skills, interpersonal skills and an awareness and higher understanding of a range of different cultural backgrounds and working styles"

7.  Self explanatory?

8. This quote is a little darker than the previous ones. Although travel has many benefits you need to stay realistic. Many countries have dark histories and you have to embrace that, listen and learn. This summer whilst in Krakow I visited Auschwitz.

9. I'm not sure if this is a life quote or a travel quote, but it says the word travel in it? Thats my argument anyway. I followed this quote and it worked out pretty well for me ;)

10. This is a current quote for me and a philosophy I have began adopting over the past year. After living in the UK for almost two years now I am facing an upcoming move back to Australia. Our frequently asked questions for the past year have been, do we really need it? Have we used it in the past 6 months? Should we take it with us? Can we donate it to charity?

I hope this post is food for thought and that you enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoyed making it :)
