Berlin

Lunch time on our first day in Berlin.
We went to ALEX where I ordered a flammkuchen which came out looking like a pizza.

In Bebelplatz square, where the Nazis had burned all books with Jewish connections.
There is a touching memorial where you look through a pane of glass in the pavement into a room full of empty shelves below ground.

Enjoyed Chocolate from Fassbender

After walking past checkpoint Charlie we were able to see parts of the Berlin Wall that are still standing.

We never once saw the Nazi Swastika while in Berlin, but at the Nazis occupied this building it would have originally been inside the circle on these gates.
